If you haven’t checked out Chris Lewis’ “125 new silver jewellery designs for Christmas 2014” then we think its about time you invited yourself over to one of our trade show stands in August or September and discovered what all the fuss is about.
Chris launched the new collections at Harrogate and sales increased by a staggering 75% on the previous year. He states that the collections “are the perfect balance of good pricing, understated elegance and unparalleled quality”. He makes the assertion that it is design evolution not a complete change in direction. So what has been his design inspiration for all this new work….he stated. Each different collection and piece comes to life differently. Sometimes, I have an idea that needs to be sketched out so I can get proper proportions and see it on paper. Other times, I see a tiny set of leaves on a branch and I preserve it between parchment and replicate it in metals, it can be that direct. Living in Mexico is a great inspiration with the dramatic different natural envirnmoent here. I’m also really drawn to architecture and travel a lot so the structures I see influence the geometrics in the jewellery. I love it most though when I come across an interesting shape or texture in nature and can figure out immediately how to translate it into something wearable, something new. It is like a gift from nature and always makes me smile.
